Halloween has quickly become a favorite holiday since having kids. Why you might ask....why else the fun costumes and kid activities! We had a kid Halloween party, the kids dressed in their costumes, we took pictures and created a spider hand print craft.
Lunch is always more fun with friends to share it with!
A favorite Halloween activity is seeing the Witches at Gardner Village. Zac was not going to sit with the Witches this year. We had to put the babies in between. Lizzy and Kyle were happy to sit in their toasty strollers and block Zac from the witch.
He warmed up eventually and was willing to touch her giant spider. Giant spider is not scary....a witch is, go figure!
A new tradition this year we went as a family to Boo at the Zoo. In preparation for waking up early we told Zac we were going to "Boo at the Zoo" all morning he kept saying "Boo" as we got closer to the Zoo he was louder with his booing. Finally I asked, why do you keep Booing...."because Mom I am getting ready to "Boo at the Zoo"...literally Boo- AT- the Zoo. So every person he came up to he didn't want to say Trick or Treat, he said "Boo".
We got to the Zoo at 8:30am and were able to see the animals just waking up. The Rhinos exiting their enclosure was pretty cool.
This seal statue is Zachary's favorite animal, cause you can ride it!
Zachary's favorite phrase right now is "Mom take a picture"
By far our favorite encounter was the Bears. The keepers drizzled honey on the windows and just as Zac was up at the glass the bear approached and licked. Zac could not be more excited. "The Bear licked me!" was a common exclamation all day!
Lizzy was a trooper she stayed in the warm enclosure of her car seat as we wandered the Zoo. It was a good thing their Mickey and Minnie hats were knitted and warm!
Even if Lizzy didn't want loves, she is getting them! Zac loves to give kisses and hugs to his sister.
The tigers were pretty cool too coming up to the glass and pacing.
We have to ride the carosel. It is a favorite. Ignore my funny face, Zac was too cute not to post.
Zac's friend did a kid party for Halloween. Zac was especially good at the bean bag toss and was pretty proud of the fact that every time he tossed, he made it, I was a proud Momma too!
Musical chairs 3 year old style, don't take a way the chairs just occasionally stop the music. For these kids that was just as fun!
A little Freeze dance fun, freezing is optional at this age.
The group of the Halloween Kids!
Rice krispy treats with a ghost ring on top was Zachary's favorite Halloween goody. He is still wearing the ring a week later.
For FHE we carved pumpkins and let Zac paint his Halloween colors.
Little Miss was happy to just do her hand prints on her mini pumpkin.
So happy to show off their pumpkins!
I made an owl and Doug did a classic pumpkin face. Zachary loved to have the pumpkins light up at night.
Zachary's preschool did a Halloween parade and invited the parents to come.
After they sang their Halloween Songs and Pumpkin poem. It was so cute and fun to see them little cowboys, pirates, princess and super heros....with my Mickey Mouse!
A quick visit to Grandma McRae while she at lunch and then over to Grandma Joan at work.
My little characters loved seeing Grandma and getting candy....like they do every time they visit the office, but today they were in costumes.
Daddy and Grandpa Norm joined us for lunch and then we trick or treated to their office.
I think by this point Zac was done smiling with every person we came to see.
Naomi in our ward happily held Lizzy while I got set up for the ward trunk or treat.
Our friends the Underwoods dressed up as Toy Story characters!
Knox as Batman and Wes as the BYU Cougar.
Transformers and a Bumble Bee, the McMillans.
Zac quickly caught the concept of going around from trunk to trunk to get candy. It was a party in the parking lot and fun for all the adults as well as kids.
Zachary was so proud of his blue tongue it was another "take a picture, Mom" moment.
Party in the truck!
Our trunk and family for Halloween.
I took the kids out to trick or treat for a few minutes while Doug handed out candy.
We only made it to a few houses. Each house Zac was quick to tell them all about his costume and his baby sister matching as Minnie Mouse. He also worked the angle that he was needing extra candy for his baby sister. Lizzy is only 7 months old and did not need candy, but that didn't stop him from asking and getting more candy. Who can resist that Mickey Mouse with those long eye lashes.
One last trick or treat to Daddy!
The outfits came together because I was given the pink polka dot outfit. I saw it and thought it looked so much like a Minnie Mouse outfit and went with the idea. I added the leggings and long sleeve black. I found the cutest little sparkly shoes with pink bows, perfect! My friend Marriette crocheted the kids hats it was easy to add buttons to Zac's shorts and I pulled out the glue gun and added felt to his old crocks. From head to toe I loved each of their little Minnie and Mickey Mouse outfits. My own little craft projects! The day will come soon that they will have opinions on their outfits and I took the opportunity to do this cute combo.
As you can see we had a very eventful Halloween! October flew by with all the fun, faster than a witches broom and a ghost at night! Boo!

Your Mickey and Minnie are ADORABLE!
Those costumes are DARLING! I love coordinating kids. :)
So so cute! Sounds like a super fun month :)
I think Allison is right...you ARE a cooler MOm than me. I've been too exhausted to do anything fun w/ the kids anymore. I see a new year's resolution in the works!
Mickey & Minnie are AH-DOOR-ABLAY!
